Kate Bubacz is a visual journalist and creative strategist with deep experience building teams and translating complex ideas into lasting narratives that drive impact. 

She currently leads the visuals team at Rest of World, a nonprofit publication covering global technology, where she manages creative production and editorial visual strategy. She also directs the visual fellowship program at PowerLines, a national energy-focused nonprofit. 

She previously held leadership positions at The Wall Street Journal, BuzzFeed News and ABC News. Her work has contributed to stories recognized with the Pulitzer Prize, Peabody Award, George Polk Award, Livingston Award, and National Magazine Award.

As a 2023 Climatebase Fellow, Kate worked at the nexus of sustainability, storytelling, and strategic communications, including co-writing a climate business newsletter “Tell The Future”

She is a sought-after juror and portfolio reviewer for institutions including the New York Times Portfolio Review, The Center Santa Fe Review, The ICP Review. The Hamburg Review, The Overseas Press Club, and American Photography, and has served on the board of The Newswomen's Club of New York.
